Published - by Mathieu Celi — Updated on -

Like every year, the release of the new Rolex watches is highly anticipated by all watch enthusiasts. They are usually announced at the beginning of the year, during the week of the Watches and Wonders exhibition in Geneva, Switzerland.

Watches and Wonders Salon

Located in Geneva, Switzerland, Watches and Wonders is the most prestigious event of the year for the watch industry. The show will take place from March 27 to 31, 2023, and for the first time will be open to the public on April 1 and 2. In this event, 48 watchmaking companies such as Rolex, Patek Philippe, Tudor, Zenith, Jaeger LeCoultre, Cartier, and many others, will present their novelties.

Rolex 2023 Novelty Predictions

2023 marks the 70th anniversary of the Submariner, the 70th anniversary of the Explorer and the 60th anniversary of the Daytona, so we can expect some new features on these iconic models.

You have probably seen many predictions on the web, of all kinds, often the fruit of the imagination of the most passionate, or their simple wish. However, wishes are often far from reality.

This Thursday, March 23, 2023, Rolex has unveiled a trailer of the future novelties that will arrive next week. We can see some clues, indicating us some models that will be updated.

Here is the teaser video in question:

2023 Rolex Yacht Master Prediction

A Rolex Yacht Master in titanium? On the video trailer of Rolex, we can see a watch with a timing bezel, a ceramic insert and raised numbers, signature of the Yacht-Master design. So we can imagine the possibility that this Yacht Master is made of titanium, standing next to the DeepSea Challenge.

2023 Rolex Daytona Prediction

On the Rolex teaser, we can see a road, evoking the speed, direct reference to the Daytona. We can see an icy blue dial, referring to the platinum. To celebrate the anniversary of this model, we can imagine Rolex introducing a new platinum dial, different from those already produced.

2023 Rolex Explorer Prediction

New Explorer 1 with an Arabic numeral dial applied at 6 o'clock? We can hope to have a new edition of this model, perhaps in a diameter of 36 or 39 mm ?

Will the case be in RLX titanium? As can be suggested by the photo below where the watch seems to be in an extreme condition.

2023 Rolex GMT Master II Prediction

The teaser seems to show us a new version of the Rolex GMT Master II. We can find a grey ceramic bezel, a second hand and applied indexes circled in gold, we can even imagine a yellow gold case. The inscription GMT Master II is red.

2023 Rolex Datejust Prediction

New Rolex Datejust for the 2023 collection? On the teaser, we can see a beautiful orange dial, the big question remains the material used: stone? enamel? The shots also highlight the Rolex logo applied.

Great mystery for the blue dial, in terms of materials, model, this color seems completely new.

Rolex Datejust 2023

2023 Rolex Cellini Prediction

If you look carefully at the fluted bezel and the crown on the picture below, it is very likely that we are dealing with a Cellini watch. Rolex would have decided to bring back this model that often goes under the radar.

Q&A
Question

When was Rolex created?

Answer

Rolex was founded in London, UK in 1905 by Hans Wilsdorf and his brother-in-law Alfred Davis. At the time, the company was called "Wilsdorf & Davis" and specialized in the import of Swiss watch movements and the assembly of watches. It was in 1908 that it was renamed Rolex. Today, Rolex is one of (if not the) best known and most respected watch brands in the industry.

Question

Is a Rolex watch reliable?

Answer

Rolex is a Swiss luxury watch brand that is known for its precision, quality manufacturing and long tradition of watchmaking. The brand is often associated with success and excellence, although it suffers from a bad image. Rolex watches are also often considered an excellent financial investment.

Question

How to buy a watch?

Answer

Research brands, styles and prices, choose a model within your budget and taste. Choose a trusted retailer, either online or in-store. Verify the authenticity and quality of the watch, by examining certificates and calling in a watch expert (never rely on photos). Take the time to consider all aspects of the watch, such as size, material, movement and complications. It is important to note that purchasing a luxury watch can be a significant investment, so it is essential to do thorough research to make an informed decision.

Question

Which Rolex watch to choose?

Answer

If you're looking for a classic, chic watch, look to the Rolex Datejust. If you're looking for a watch that's tough as nails, look to the professional models (Rolex Submariner, Rolex Explorer, Rolex GMT Master).

Question

Where to buy a Rolex watch?

Answer

At Rolex retailers: Rolex has stores in major cities around the world, where you can buy new, authentic Rolex watches directly from the brand (or at least get on the waiting list).
